The Life of Brian - Born 1947 in Surrey This is a catalogue of my work, with prints and originals that can be purchased online. I was lucky enough to study art for thirteen years. My last student days were at the Royal Academy Schools where I was painting major 'Art'. However, today I paint what I enjoy most ie, local scenes either where I live, here in Norfolk, England, or off on my travels, recently to Cape Cod USA, France, Spain, Italy and Greece. I paint the blue sky days, the lighter side of life. I leave the grey days and the angst for others.Reviews 'The cream of modern art is on show at the 20th Century British Art Fair at the Royal College of Art in Kensington, west London. Highlights include Brian Lewis's arresting work, The Seal Trip, Blakeney, on sale from James Colman Fine Art' - Marianne Macdonald, The Independent. 'While Brian Lewis has long looked like a Norfolk painter, his adopted patch (Norfolk) is starting to look like a Brian Lewis. As with Stanley Spencer's Cookham, Beryl Cook's Plymouth and L. S. Lowry's Salford, places like Cley, Blakeney Point, and Wells-next-the-Sea Norfolk can now be seen in the new light of idiosyncratic paint' - Ian Collins, (Journalist and Author). 'He portrays the popular aspects of the coastline, seal trips, harbours, fishing, boating and draughty sunbathing, with humour colour and superb painting' - J and R Winfrey, The Courtyard Gallery. 'Norfolk artist Brian Lewis is one of the most original around, with his bold stylings and his imaginative use of different media. He has brought a new, skewed vision to the traditional paintings of North Norfolk' - Steve Snelling, Eastern Daily Press Magazine. | |
